Each lever has it's own hydraulic brake making braking instant and easily controlled with little effort. Each brake can also be locked on to act as a parking brake during rest or transfers. 

The hydraulic brakes act against a metal disk, the same system as found in high end mountain bikes. this gives the wheelchair user powerful and accurate braking in their wheelchair.
